Sell it.
Whaddaya want me to say?
If it's a great price, & you feel that your other GTO's will satisfy you for now, let it go.
The fact that you're posting this means the car isn't a keeper. ;)

Take it to Tiger Run. then if you still feel like you'd be able to sell it. ...do so. (sob!)
She's a sweet ride. Wish I could afford to out bid the other guy.

I'm saying sell it. That's a bunch of change. I'm thinking there's enough money to get some other cars running, eh? Tough decision, but I'm sure the fact that you have an H.O. convert standing by, it's got to make it a bit easier. Good luck.
Gee, I'd hate to see that plum mist go, it's the only one I've ever seen in that cool wild color. I guess I really like all the cars in the Legends' stables. But heck, if in return it brings two more GTOs, hmmm ::) Al, that's a tough call.

Let's see Al. You say he's offering a fair price. Is that not enough? Or do you want to squeeze as much money out of him as possible? If not, then what's the dilemma? You either want to keep the car or you don't. If you do want more money then tell him and see if he still wants it.
I don't know about you but MY GTO is pretty personal to me. I don't think I could ask someone else what THEY thought my car was worth TO ME. That's something for me to decide.
Now, is 35K a fair price? Is it a numbers matching car? If it is I'd say that's fair to better than fair. If not I'd say the guy is overpaying...Good for you either way.

Hey Al whats up? one minute your selling one car and the next your trying to sell another . I'm confused is it the money or is it the car or cars you need to figure out which one is more important. It doesn't make a difference what I or anybody else says or what anybody else is willing to pay for it. It is the principle . You pick a car or cars and go on with it . I look at it this way money comes and goes so you have to decide if it really worth lossing over money that will be spent or something that you can hold on to that no one else has. you decide? :-/

I hear ya. How many times has someone at a car show or cruise talked about a car like yours and said 'I never should have sold it'. It is an individual decision.

Wow, *alot of comments, thanks.
*Sharon and I did talk about it. *It's not the money, this guy has been interested for a while. *One of the three GTOs has to go. *But NOT THIS ONE. *It was a decent offer and I shall let him know. *He used to have one when he was young and has been looking for awhile to replace it. *If I were to sell to him, sure I'd get both the other GTOs fully restored and all bills paid off but I'd also be that guy saying "I used to have one when I was young and now I'm looking to get another one." *
*I've looked for other plum mist converts and in over 18 years I've only found 7, 3 of which were white interior and the others were black interior cars. *
*As tempting as the offer was, the car belongs here in my garage. *So with that decision the restoration of the HO convert will take a few years, but it was nice thinking for a while that I could have both the HO and the 66 ready for Bend, it just wouldn't be the same with out the ole Plum Mist. *Besides, I bought those Royal B Hursts for the plum, can't sell it now *;D
I know I'd regret selling so there you go. *Plus, I won't have to regret not, there's another guy willing to pay the same. *Both these guys found the car and emailed me hoping to buy it. *They're both good people but they'll have to keep looking.
Hehehe LOL, *I wonder if they'd take the pinkster *::)

;D Al
Glad to hear you have made up your mind to keep the plum mist. I have personal knowledge of letting a car go. I was talked out of my 65 riviera, and have been sick since. It just kills me to see my old car. We need another car. I am sure when I find a gto for my husband, I will be driving it. Hope it will keeps my mind off the riviera till I find another. I am holding out for a gs this time. Is the picture they posted of the 2 67's, your converitble?

so you decided to keep it, if you sold it you would be trying to replace it later :o you will just have to sell one of the other cars :( no I don't want the Pinkster :P
Good decision. Glad to see it's staying ;)
Remember that fella in Seattle selling his '69 Judge on Ebay?
His comment after he sold it was " I miss MY GTO"
Now that fella should have kept his car too!!

I was thinking more along the lines of you really cant put a price tag on a pink "Le Mans".. ("She mans") ;D

He called again today, nice guy! He was asking about wheel sizes and whatnot that he could put under a GTO. He's looking at another Plum Mist convert that's more $$ and less options. He hasn't seen the car yet though. I'm hoping he emails me pics.
I like that "priceless" reply, that's a classic! ;D
And yes Kev, the Pink LeManster also fits that catagory, it's also priceless, but only because nobody will pay any amount of $ for it ;)
I still think the ladies should use it for the GTO night since they're going out to the "Pink Door"

You know Al if you really wanted to be cool, you'd donate the Pink car to the club and let the club turn it into the "Pink Lady" race car. We could put a nice big 455 motor in it and campaign it at around the NW with a FEMALE driver to kick some ass!! Or let a members high school girl use it to kick some ass at the high school drags at Pacific Raceways. Maybe get more young people interested in the real stuff. Just a thought.

Anyone want to donate a paint job on the '66, I'd be glad to donate the Pinkster to the club. *That's not a bad idea *:)
*But I need that $$ for the paint for the '66. *Still if it doesn't sell, that's an idea. *It will need some other volunteers to make it all happen. *LOL *think Dave B would donate an engine? *Tischer a tranny? Dave K the Hurst rims? *Any volunteers to drive it?
You could drive it and become the "Known-Authority" LOL ;)
A true pow(d)er puff race car.

Hey Al, I've got a couple extra cans of krylon... maybe some testors for the pin-stripes... ;)
Glad to hear you are keeping the Plum Mist... I sold my 66 over 20 years ago and it took me that long to get another GTO. I have regretted it since (selling the 1st one that is). ???
