My 67 engine is sitting on the dyno waiting for me to solve a distributor problem. I reconditioned the original but the mechanical advance is too sloppy. When we ran the distributor on a Sun tester, the mechanical advance starts way below idle RPM and is erratic. I need to replace the shaft, the mechanical advance weight plate and the weights or the distributor. I'm trying to keep the orignal housing since is has the proper number and manufacturing date for this engine. Any parts or suggestions to help get this goat back on the road will be much appreciated.

Peyton knows, find him through Jays Automotive 425-347-8812 He's the best. Just tell him how much total you want, when you want it all in and how fast you want it to happen. That's the secret to performance in the Pontiac and he knows it.

The engine is on Dave Peyton's dyno right now. He doesn't have the correct parts to fix my distributor and is swamped right now, so I told him that I would look around for the parts or a replacement. He is a very good mechanic and machinist and I am very happy with his work so far. I really am anixous to hear this engine run again after setting for 15 years.

I see, well I have a few stock dist. that may have the parts needed. So you can use the stock housing. If I don't I would think Stefan might have them.

I would go with what Scott has, it sounds like he has more parts than I do. You need to take a trip south it sounds like.

Sounds good. I have three but they are all slightly different and tired. I would be happy to go to Scott's and look at what he has. The original housing is in good shape, so just need the mechanical advance parts. Scott, you can call me at 360-653-3783 to give me directions and let me know what is a good time. Thanks for the help guys.
