Windshield wipers

My wipers don't work. The fuse was blown. I replaced it., turned on the wipers and they ran a few swipes, then the fuse blew again. I put in a new fuse and it blew immediately upon turning the switch on. I disconnected the wires at the wiper motor, turned the switch on and the fuse is ok. Does that mean a short in the wiper motor? Any thoughts?

Seeing as how the first time it ran for a while before blowing I would say maybe there is a bind in the mechanics (arms, transmissions, linkage) rather than a short A short would usually blow the fuse right away. There are exceptions, but hard to say without looking at it. Let me know if I can help.
