Legends -
For those of you who missed last night's club meeting, we had Brian Canfield from the Greenwood Nights come out to talk to us about this year's Greenwood Car Show.
This is the first year the show is being sanctioned as a Seafair Community event. This is significant recognition for a growing event and as such, the City of Seattle has granted the show additional room, extending the show from 73rd to 90th street.
Weather willing, this will be the biggest Greenwood Car Show ever!

Our club recieved a formal invitation to attend and will be making this show a club function. We will have a special opportunity to park as a club between 78th and 79th Street. Additionally, everyone from our club that pre-registers by June 12th will be allowed to enter the show on Greenwood Avenue from 78th Street and not have to wait in line at the southern gate entrance. This entrance will garded by NW Legends volunteers allowing for those of you wanting to attend to not have to arrive at the crack of dawn.

In order to take advantage of this opportunity any club members wishing to attend the show and park with other club members must pre-register by June 12th.
Only those folks who have pre-registered will be granted parking passes and allowed to enter through this special entrance. Everyone else will have to wait in line at the south entrance.
Club member Tom Willett is coordinating the parking passes that will be issued to the club based on pre-registration.

If you would like to park with your fellow club members, the best way to ensure you have a parking place is to make sure you have mailed in your pre-registration by June 12th
Pre-registration is $25 and includes a goodie bag.

You can find your registration form at www.greenwoodcarshow.com

Please communicate with Tom Willett if you are planning to attend.
You can contact him at 425-644-4444

Hey Tom, I sent you an email. I'm in town after all and am considering the Greenwood show. Is there still time to sign up and room to park and all that? It looks like the preregistration deadline is in 2 days?

Hi Milt, it will be good to be seen. I'm planning on getting to the 78th or 79th street entrance point at 6am. See you there.

Hey gang,
Tom and I have noted several folks mentioning that the meeting location is 79th & Greenwood. Unfortunately we are supposed to meeting at 78th & Greenwood, on the eastside of Greenwood.
The best way to approach from I5 is to exit at 85th eastbound, travel down the hill to Meridan St. And turn left (or south), then go to 80th and turn right, then travel west towards Greenwood until you reach Dayton. At that point you will be 1 block from Greenwood, TURN left and go 2 blocks south to 78th. Turn right and proceed one block to the meeting location.
From this point we should as a group be able to pull in, turn right or northbound, on Greenwood and park on our block between 78th and 79th.
Having lived right up the street some yaers ago from this point, I think this is the slickest way in or out.
Can't wait to see evryone!

Gary T. won 1st place in the 1956 (right year?) to present category!
Congratulations Gary
The Northwest GTO Legends won the club participation award, accepted by organizer Tom W.!
There were six or seven members whose cars aren't pictured above due to extreme forgetfulness on my part. I forgot to take their pictures when they arrived.:(

OK, can everyone see all 15 cars?

Can you see that LS-2 peeking out of that last '67? Wow!

Legends - I asked the web guru to remove a few negative posts from this thread.

While we all have opinions about what is cool or uncool, the club forum is not a place to post negative opinions about specific owners or their cars.

As your mom always said - If you don't have anything nice to say about someones Pontiac, don't say anything at all.

My apologies. I wasn't looking to stir anything up, either. Sorry.

I watched the Lance Lambert Vintage Vehicle Show segment on the 2010 Greenwood Car Show show last night. He gave some great camera time to "GTO Row". You should check it out. Denny Deal can be seen grinning at the camera with a few other club members milling around. My only beef - he went down the row, but edited out all images of the New Generation GTO's in the line up. Dang. He said they approached 1,000 cars this year.
