I am considering selling my convertible this Spring so that the new owner can cruise to Tiger Run in style and enjoy the summer in a fantastic original classic. Before advertising nationally or putting the car on Ebay, I am wondering if anyone in the club would like to own my convertible. If you aren't familiar with the car, there is a picture of her in the March newsletter. I am going to ask for $35,000 if I advertise nationally, but if anyone in the club wants to have my car, make me an offer. I would really prefer that she stays in the Northwest if possible.

Wow, Bob - it seems like you'd regret it if you sold it - not that you haven't given this a lot of thought... But I must agree, that car should stay in our neck of the woods.

Hey Bob, If you throw the Golden Tiger Motor in, I'll take it ;D

In truth, we'd hate to see that great car go :(

Al? Company for the Plum Mist??

Plum has company already, but I was able to get the Hursts from the Royal Yellow ragtop.

Hey Bob, I thought you said that the car came with the wheels :D

Trade you for the '66 HT I have, don't you need another '66 HT for your racing team? I can even paint it "Tiger Gold" for you.

Al,

Thanks for the offer Buddy! I will wait for additional offers before making a decision! ::)

Lonnie,

I know that I will probably regret it but I think that the car should be driven and enjoyed by someone who really appreciates her. Unfortunately, with my summer schedule and the fact that I have two other 66's, I just won't have the time to really enjoy the car.

I really hope that someone locally can own her. I know that the price is high, but where are you going to find another tripower 4 speed convertible in excellent condition with 50k miles?

Bob, that car is a creampuff and we're sad that you may have to let her go but we certainly understand that it's tough when you have three '66 GTOs to care for. Shoot, one of them is a handful, so I understand. I think $35k is a fair price. It would be good if somebody here in the NW could take her.

Bob, I agree with Bruce, price is fair if not on the low side. If I could have got $35K for mine then absolutely you're in the right range if not low.

Will hate to see that car go as well but having three myself I also know the situation. Couldn't see getting rid of a ragtop though. But that's just me. To hard to replace.

Let's make sure this news gets into the monthly newsletter also, so other members who don't read this board can "hear" the news. I'd like to maximize the chance of that car staying in Washington if not the club.

Dang....if I only had another garage (or a more understanding wife). Bob, good luck on finding a happy buyer, they are going to get a kick-ass Goat that they can hop in and drive away in.

Rick,

Thanks! As far as storage space, I'm sure that can be arranged, even at my shop in Redmond. As far as an understanding wife, you will have to arrange that one! I always use the "look at it as an investment" strategy. And, as a matter of fact, a 65 or 66 tripower convertible is a great investment these days, espeially with the sluggish stock market and low interest rates. I wish that I could keep the car, but I think that the next owner will get a lot more enjoyment from her than I am able to at this time.

Anyway 35 of us can toss in $1,000 each and own the car?

Lets see, I'd get it one month every 3 years.

That's the same model I drove when I drove my first goat at 17. Check out my bio. That's the car.

Bob, every live in Lake City, Seattle?

My Convertible is still available. I am thinking about putting it in Memory Lane Motors at the end of this month or trying Ebay, The Legend or Hemmings if it hasn't sold by then. Let me know if you would like to have it. I have all the documentation on the car back to the first owner. I am the fourth owner and the 50,000 miles are real.
Let me know if you are interested before I put it in Memory Lane or advertise on Ebay, The Legend or Hemmings.

Paul, you still have first right of refusal. Get that Corvette sold so that you can get this car!
