The Summit Racing Equipment Finals was held at Mission Raceway Park, Sept 2-5, 2010. Pat Nevue ran his 63 Tempest/Best of Show Tiger Run 2 years back, and I ran my 64 Tempest War Waqon. We raced for TEAM RENEGADE, which you have to qualify for during the season.

This is where Wallys are won in the Division Finals and those winners receive money and tickets to the NHRA Finals held at Pomona. Pats son, Jesse, won the High School championship with his 88 Firebird and now has a nice Wally to display. Very few people ever win one.

I was paged by the NHRA Divison 6 Director and the NHRA had awarded the WAR WAGON with the Best Appearing Trophy in the Pro class. With a class entry in excess of 140 cars I was really pleased. Lots of photographs, a big trophy, and an upcoming feature in National Dragster. The NHRA staff was giving me the Thumbs Up each time I came into the staging lanes and when I was in the water box. I didn't have a clue what was coming. Pat was still going rounds when I left. His new SD motor is an animal.

See U at the BOPs.

Pat Nevue driving his SD powered 63 Tempest went seven rounds and lost in the finals in Pro. His runner up finish provided him with a large chunk of cash, which was greater than one months take home pay for me.

Pat has asked that I not provide his times. However, I can tell U he runs faster than all others with the exception of Dan Whilms "Class of 66". Driving around his .002 and .003 lights is another matter.

See U all at the BOP.

Pat ran 9.84 at 136 mph. Is he coming to B.O.P?

Pat races for the stripe. He frequently taps the brakes to avoid breaking out. Excessive braking/smoke showing will get u a warning for the first time and a boot for the second. Pat did run quicker than 9.84 at Mission. Since he has been driving my cars this season prior to this race I have acces to his time slips. The SD motor was only run in an 18th mile event at Walla Walla. Pat once again was the runner up.

There was another Pontiac at Mission which was quicker than Pat. MY BAD! It is a light blue 70 T-37, running an SD head package with a Rod Page aftermarket block. It is a former Curt Geise car. It ran at the BOPs at Bremerton a few years back. Curt is now running a newer 200? GTO with an IA block. He runs in the 6.80s.

The Boise car ran 9.70s. The air was not good at Mission. To much humidity and not enough air. Nowadays everyone relys on a weather station. They tell u how to dial for the next round.
