I was walking in South Bellevue today by Starbucks at the top of the Lakemont Blvd hill around 3:30PM and spotted a black on black, 4 speed, '67 GTO hardtop that was the exact same as my old car. I wonder............... Nah.
The plate was a personalized one with 5 or 6 letters that I didn't catch. Sounded like upgraded exhaust and maybe a mild cam as he shifted into second and disappeared. Anybody know who this driver might be?
Ah, brings back excellent high school memories. Maybe one day.......
Remember, this is the car we wrote about in the August 2009 Legends magazine when I stumbled into the guy that I sold the car to back in 1972.

Milt - if you happen to corner that car and find out that it infact is your former first love, you will have no choice but to reacquire it by any means necessary..... too good of a story, too rare of an opportunity.

I'm not sure I want to face that dilema right now. Economics are tight. But, I fear you are correct.
I did exchange emails with Jim Ball, the guy I sold it to in 1972, and a club member, and he thinks that it is not the same car. He says that guy may work in Issaquah at a wine shop and parks it on Front street. I don't get down there much and have not seen it. I forgot to look for the double white pin stripes that was on the car in my day. I was about to pee my pants as it was and wasn't thinking straight. Of course, a paint job after 34 years would not be unreasonable. Not that many survivors.
Thanks for the encouragement.

Just to bump this thread for fun, here is what she looked like in 1972. Some of you have seen this before, but as Clint Eastwood says in Gran Torino about his '72 Gran Torino "Isn't she sweet"

The fact that you were that excited about a car that maybe could be your car proves the point. Got to know if that car is your old '67..... then if it is, you need to reacquire it by any means necessary. How many guys get that chance?
Carpe the diem, Milt!
