View Full Version : Throttle Cable Adjustment
Judge Mental

I have a 70 Judge with a Holley carb - I know, its not stock - but it sure is dependable and responsive - and the throttle cable is about .75" too long with this set-up. Does anyone know of a linkage adapter that is available for this situation or how I can get a shorter throttle cable or an adjustable one?
Also, the pin that the eyelet of the throttle cable slips over which connects it to the throttle linkage on the carb: Where can I get one of these???
Thanks for the help.

When you say it is to long what does that mean?
Post a picture.
In the past I have taken the bracket that holds the cable housing and sliced it horizontally, moved it to the desired location then welded it back together, sanded and painted. You can't tell anything was ever done. I have a Holly spreadbore that I had to do that for in the past to fit an engine.
As for the pin, if your not to picky you can use a #8 or 10 machine screw. Just bolt it into the hole on the carb with a couple washers to pinch it together in the larger hole (if that is the one you use) then slide the cable eye onto it, then double nut the end to hold it on.

You might have to go with a Lokar throttle cable. I couldn't use my stock one on my 66, with a 1050 Dominator. So I installed a Lokar.

Thanks for the option. I appreciate it!
