Forgive me for not logging on in a while, but I'm just about to celebrate my shop's one year anniversary (in West Seattle).
I'm wondering if any of you know how to tell what number a car is (pre1980)? Our 1971 LeMans Sport convertible recently received the info package from PHS and we'd further like to find out which of the 3,865 built is ours. Any help is appreciated and I'm going to try and log in more often!

Congratulations on being in business for a year in this economy. You must be doing something right. As for your car, the one of 3,865 that you have, is yours. Conversly, the car you have is one of the 3,865 built. ;) Can you expand upon what else you were trying to determine about your car? If you want a break down of motor/trans numbers, I've never seen them listed for LeMans, only GTO's.
Try a couple of things.
1 Post PHS here
2 Got to PY forum and try this in the 70-72 part of the forum.
What engine/trans do you have and what options. Enquiring minds want to know.

Thanks guys,
I was just trying to see if there was a way to know what number off the assy line it might have been. I know it's kind of a stretch, but worth a try.
I ordered the package from PHS, and there was some good stuff in there.
It's a 71 Sport Convertible with 350 2 bbl and TH350 trans. No super performer, but good for cruising. I did get a '68 4 bbl manifold in August and bought some HEI distributors from a guy on Craigslist, so I plan on going that far - probably with a Q-jet or an AFB that I have laying around.
My '72 Luxury LeMans has a '68 GTO 400 - bored .030" over, TRW pistons, Erson cam (.462 lift, 310 duration) and has a re-programmed TH400 (manual only valve body) with the clutch packs and gears from a '68 Cadillac.
I kick myself when I think of all of the original parts I let go of in the late '80s and early '90s, but what ya gonna do?
Thanks for the replies and the interest!
Todd
