Say, anyone got or know about a set of '66 - Front Window Trim Clips. Mine all all rusted off and everytime I get a set from year one or ames they send me the rear window clips. The fronts are much smaller that the rears.
If you got'em I'll buy'em.
I may be interested in a set of trim too.

If you'll come up and pull them (Duvall) I've got windshield trim pieces on Donor Car.
Maybe we can trade. Parts for education. Know how to remove a dash from a '67? :)

you can buy them at either any automotive paint store or at a windshield installation store ;)
Just remember to bring in one of your old ones 8)

hey kendall, removing the dash pad is a breeze their are 3 nuts that hold it on, I think 7/16 just reach up with a ratchet and small extention above the glove box at the end of the dash pad the next nut is 17 inches over from that one and the last one is on the drivers side almost to the end of the pad. Once removed just pull the old one out and replace with a new one.
good luck Patrick! 8)

Thanks Patrick!
Actually I'm trying to figure out how to pull the instrument cluster and wiring harness.
Crawled under the dash of The Keeper yesterday and saw indications of melted insulation. :-[
The ignition circuit provides a whopping .4 volts to the coil. Most of the black "tape" that wraps the harness is gone and it's a tangle of wires under there. I'm thinking it might be best to pull the harness out of Donor Car fix anything obviously wrong with it and then install it on The Keeper.

Ah, correct. I stopped by an autobody supply store and guess what? They have a ton of clips and fasteners and nickle plated screws and all kinds of stuff I need. I then went to Shucks to get some screws and guess what? Shucks had the clips I needed right on their rack too. Dang. Dah!
Kendall,
My Dash was pretty bad too actually. What I did was, buy a new/used harness, they come complete and they install fairly easily. I had a lot of rust in the window channel too so I ground it out, por-15 'd it and used fiberglass and epoxy to replace the bad metal. All in all it turned out real nice and was inexpensive to do. You need to know the technique, but it’s a typical fix. Next time we see each other we can talk and I could show you my car. Replacing the whole dash I'm sure will require cutting and welding and I'm not up to that much work really. Mine isn't a show car, just a 10 footer and a sunday driver.
Pulling the trim takes a lot of care and even a special tool, but it is suppose to be fairly easy to do although those little clips get to be little buggers sometimes.

I watch the list at, http://www.good-guys.com/events/cruise_sched.asp
I'm not desperate for the trim, so we'll just work it out sometime when its convenient. I'm really no expert, but I'll stop by to see the car then too and we can talk. Mine was pretty bad when I started 6 years ago. Believe me.

Hi, I just read the post of re: "Actually I'm trying to figure out how to pull the instrument cluster and wiring harness"
The instrument cluster is taken off by removing the steering wheel. It is a bit of tedious work, but mainly putting it back together, cause you really need to be careful not to crush the wires in the steering column. They come off pretty easy, and there is one metal bracket on the back that bolts to the dash or steering column that is kinda hard to see. But it all comes apart nicely and I got the instrument panel re-chromed and re-veneered pretty well and fairly easy.
