I've got a new glovebox to install and wanted some advice. *There are four screw holes in the box at the lower edge where the door would also be installed. *Two of the holes apparently would be used to mount the door through. *With the cardoard box installed so that it is sandwitched between the dash and the door, the glove box door does not fit correctly (sits too high in the door opening). *Am I installing the box wrong? *Should I trim the box so the the door hinge is in direct contact with the metal of the dash? *Can someone with a '67 look and let me know how their box is installed?

Thanks,
Scott

Mine is installed as a "sandwich" (hinge/ cardboard/frame). Do you have the right cardboard box?? Some vendors are selling a "one size fits all" box which can be a problem.

The beatup glove box I removed from Donor Car had frame-hinge-box configuration if I'm not mistaken.

Seems kinda odd that they'd put the cardboard box on top of the rest... I'll have to go take another look.

I do have the correct box and ended up installing it after I installed the door. It appears to be correct this way. I initially had a little trouble linning up the screw holes on the side which made me think it needed to be "sandwiched". Anyway, it all fits good now.

Thanks,
Scott

Glad to hear it. I looked in mine and it was on top of the hinge.

I'm thinking about fabbing one up in steel.
