I have a 1967 GTO that I am restoring, the rt. fender has been replaced and there is no antenna hole in it, but the antenna wire is there. So can anyone tell me the correct placement of it and the the correct size. I have been planning on joining the club, but every time there has been a meeting, it conflects with either my wife or my schedule. At the meetings are children welcome? My car is a 1967 GTO 400 Hurst V gate AT, Red ext, red int, I have had all the chassis, inner fenders and radiator support powder coated, the body is about ready to be painted. The engine and trany are the next to be gone thru, I have tlked to Dave at SD Performance abou the engine, just not sure what I want to do there yet. Gary ???

Gary,

Absolutely - wives, children, husbands are welcome at our meetings!!! They're what make the meetings great! Come one, come all!

Our next meeting is combined with our Awards Banquet - scheduled for this Saturday, Feb 8th, at 5:00 PM at Barnaby's Grill in Tukwila. Hope you can make it. We'll be waiting for the whole family! ;)

Welcome to our forum Gary! We look forward to meeting you and seeing your '67 GTO. I'm afraid that I cannot answer your question regarding antenna placement. That detail may be in a 1967 assembly manual but I'm not sure. Good luck :)

There are only about 50 '67's in the club! We will steer you right, but you gotta come to a meeting to see the placement with your own eyes to be sure you got it right. Let me welcome you ahead of time!

Gary,
I have two '67s and posibly another due in ;D Yep guys, I found another. (column shift 2 bbl car though)
I'll check on one of the cars forthe measurements, one currently has the antenna out of it's hole. I'll also look in my books to see if they say the exact measurements. If you're in the Tacoma area you could drop by to see for yourself though.
You could always go with the rear trunk mounted power antenna.

Ran out into the back yard with my digital camera and snapped these off the fender of my '67 LeMans.

Hope they help. All measurements taken from the closest edge of the fender.

Thanks for the pics. I can see where it should be. I will try to come to the meeting this weekend. I am trying to have my car finished by the Tigar Run this spring, but I still have a lot of work...

Hey Gary, the fun of Tiger Run is thrashing the car together right before you leave, right Mark?
