I was troubleshooting an intermittent starter wire problem today and tore into my entire engine wiring harness thoroughly for the first time. It's UNgood. Seven of the 20+ wires that are part of this harness are cobbed together, some showing signs of old insulation melting and a lot are awfully brittle.

I removed and replaced the most severely looking sections but think it's time for a new engine wiring harness.

Anybody have any thoughts on where to get a harness that will fit right in and provide a minimum of hassle on the install?
I figure that with the correct harness, it shouldn't be difficult to replace this, maybe a 2.5 hour job??

Thanks!

I replaced mine with one from Ames, they have a section in their catalog that lists just about every harness you could want.It lookes totally origional and was really easy to do. It only took me about 2.5 beers to do it.
I see your's listed for $142.00.

Yearone also has a complete listing of wire harness, but I did not check there prices. I have had good luck with them but there prices are higher sometimes. 8)

The avatar is a picture I took of a guy at the roadster show, while he was looking at the legends display. ;D

I just replaced mine and I think the cost was 99.00 from www.wiringharness.com . The quality was excellent and I believe they actually supply Yearone. The harness was correctly wrapped and was also coated with the correct goop around the firewall. Installation took me a long time however... I think I was done in under 15 minutes. ;D
