One of the advantages to boradband internet is the theory that web pages are supposed to load faster on your computer. High speed internet = fast page loads.

I'm tired of the lag I've been getting from AMHosting - which is the webhost in Nevada that hosts this website. I moved our site there almost two years ago, because the host before that was slow and pathetic. Now I'm having similar grief with AMHosting.com. JohnB - your site is on a different server with 'slightly' better performance than this one.

I finally found a decent web host in downtown Seattle that came highly recommended - Bravidio.com. They're stationed in the Westin building - the center of the internet known universe in the western US. They claim to have more bandwidth than a bear has butt hair -we'll see. So far so good though - I've been testing like crazy. The first obvious advantage is that this will be Northwest GTO Legends' first truly local web host - downtown Seattle for freak sake. Most local hosts in the past have been priced for the upper crust. You know - the guys that would buy a 2004 GTO over the beloved classic ;) heheh

Anyway, hold on to your hats, cuz this website is about to go 0-60 in 0.1 seconds.

Here's the plan - for anyone who cares. For the next two weeks, I'm upgrading our website - again. I'm converting the webpages to another, more robust format with some inherent advantages. This will better prepare the site for the new stuff we discussed in the last meeting. The message board is going to undergo a massive overhaul, with new features. As I'm doing this - I'm placing all the new, upgraded stuff on our new host in Seattle. All the while, you will all still be using this site in Nevada. When I'm finished, I'll "flip the switch" and you will all be re-directed to our new home. It's kinda like cruzin' your daily driver while you're restoring your 'baby' in secrecy... maybe not... ;)

Hi Lonnie,
You’re on the ball ! Thanks for looking out for our best interests. I have to deal with hosting issues at my job too and having a good web hosting service is important. I hope you don’t have to do too much to our pages to make ‘em work well with the new service :)

I would have to agree with that vote. As one of the new members on the block, I can honestly say I have had this page as my home page for close to a year and a 1/2 and have only been a club member for about 4 mos...

Lonnie, your work ROCKS!!! Thank You ;D
