For Sale: 4 - pretty new tires on a set of old '66 gto rims.
These are 4 pretty good tires from Sears, (Goodrich tires ? I'll look up the name and exact size later) on 14" rims.
Before I bought new wheels and hence tires, a year ago, I had to buy 4 decent tires to drive the goat around. So I put 4 good tires from Sears on a somewhat old rusty set of '66 gto wheels. I spent $300 and put about 100 miles on the tires, one rim has a slight leak, that, in a month, might deflate the tire. But they are good tires and anyone needing a set could do well by these. I spose I'd want
$175 ? or best offer.

Here's a little more info.
They are the old poverty cap style. The rims looked pretty good a year ago, but they've been sitting outside for a couple months now. There's a little rust on them, but basically they're solid. A guy at the wheel shop said he could make 'em look brand new with a sandblast and new paint, he quoted me $35 each. I just don't have the time or money or need for them now.
There is a very slow leek on one tire, it appears to be around the bead of one tire. I poured some water on it at 40 lbs. preasure and got a little bubble. I'm sure the bead just needs to be cleaned, as does all the wheels.

I hate to say this but I have to agree with you. But now on the other hand, you have a '66 that you'll need things for and you'll need a set of rims for your poverty caps that you're getting for Christmas.
Oh ya, and I have a sand blaster too LOL

Not sold yet, as of 1/8/04, none of us have really pursued it. If no-one wants to drive to Ballard in Seattle before next month,
I'll bring them by to the next nw gto club meeting on Feb. 8th at Bison Creek. There may be some discussion about the poverty hubcap capability of the wheels and I want people to see what's for sale. It may be possible to separate the tires and the wheels if its worth it.

No photos yet. I haven't got a digital camera and my son, who does, forgot to bring his camera over last weekend. But I will try to get photos sometime.
The tires are p270 on 14 " rims. Going to Bison Creek on sat. for the meeting and the wheels and tires will be in the trunk. Bring your hub caps and we'll make sure they fit.

Ok, they are sold. Going on a '65 Lemans project. We might see it in the future. Good luck with that.
