Can anyone offer information about installing a Quartz unit in my stock clock? I was wondering if I could buy one at any hardware store or do I need one of a specific size?

I've seen one clock that has had a quartz unt put in it. They're out there but I haven't spent the time to find out who sells them.
A clock-enthusiast neighbor of mine suggested that I just get a hardware stor clock and then replace the 1.5 volt AA battery when it goes dead. I'd rathe not have to reach into the dash to change the time every six months and every time the battery runs dead.
The thing that kills most of the less expensive options is that darned knob hanging out of the front that allows you to set the time.
