This topic was mentioned in the Rainier Run thread so I am following up here. I would like to assemble a DVD of this years Rainier run for the club and need volunteers to shoot some video. If you have a video camera (hopefully digital) and would like to contribute a little time I would like to hear from you. All tapes will be returned at the end of the project, but I would need a release from you to use it. The more cameras the better! Each camera person will recieve a DVD and thier name on the credits, if wanted. I am open to ideas so let's hear from you.

Sorry for the late reply, but I will be working one of the check points this year and plan to bring my video and digital camera. You can have at anything I capture.

I"ll be taking short video clips with my digital camera, if they turn out (it's a still camera with video, great quality stills but OK video). Count them in!

Thanks Al! It was mentioned at the meeting last night that some of the checkpoints still need to be manned. I was going to volunteer but still don't know where the best spot for video would be. I have also thought of the roving cam idea, but I want to make sure we get all the cars on tape. It would be nice if possible to get the volunteers at each checkpoint on tape too, to chronicle the whole event. :)

Seperate note/question: are dash plaques going to be given out for this event?

Mark,
If you're thinking "roving cam" idea, what about this? Start filming at the check-in for a few cars. Then move to Mather for a few, then to Tipsoo and so on until you get them all by the last check point and check-in. That way you're also getting all check point cars as well and get a change of scenery/backgrounds to mix it up a little. Perhaps even a couple shots as cars pass by at various locations that offer a nice/meaningfull background etc.
Just a thought. If I wasn't doing a check-point I think I'd do that with still photos as well. Perhaps next year I'll do it that way :-)

That sounds pretty good Al. Something I was just reminded of, my youngest daughter is expecting and the due date is July 23rd. She better not be late. Hmmm, Rainier Run with a lot of Goats, or a day in the hospital waiting for a kid? Tough decision! If she doesn't have it by the due date maybe I can bribe the doc into inducing labor. Or get one of you guys to give her 1/4 mile 10 second ride in a GTO to get her adrenalin up. My oldest is expecting too, on May 19th, so she is messing up Tiger run for me, I have to be in Montana for that birth. I'll figure something out. :?

Someone mentioned dash plaques. Yes there will be dash plaques for the first 100 cars. They will be similar but not the same design as last year. The 2004 dash plaque will be magnetic again this year. This way you will not scratch up your dash - no excuses not to bring that GTO around! See every one there!

Hey, I'm bumping this to remind everybody that's going to Tiger Run that has video cams to bring 'em. I don't have one yet but digital videos of TR stuff would be so cool, so bring 'em and maybe we could edit some cool footage and post it here later
