UNFINISHED OLD BUSINESS:

(1) Denny discussed Vehicle Vintage Show that has been sponsored by John Bozony. Board had reviewed this recommendation and agreed that this type of publicity could be very beneficial to the club. While there are three (3) different levels to choose from, the Board feels the minimal fee of $600.00 for a professionally done tape of our Muscle Car Meet could be used as a strong promotional tool to promote our club for years to come. Members voted on and agreed to use $600.00 of the Club’s funds to have the Vintage Vehicle Show come to our Muscle Car Show in September to tape for an upcoming episode on their TV program. No tape will be supplied to the Club, but President Denny indicated he would contact Lance Lambert to discuss possibility of buying a tape for distribution. If not available, or if cost prohibitive, everyone will be kept posted of the time and date of the airing so they can tape it themselves. Denny to report further at the March Club meeting.

(2) North End Muscle Car Meet – was discussed and is still being looked into. The best location looked at was the Tulalip Casino in Marysville, but it doesn’t appear that they are interested. John Bozony will continue to pursue. Currently, Tulalip Casino appears to be a dead issue and John is still looking for a spot but things do not look very promising.

(3) Newsletter – As always, we are looking for articles and stories that can be of interest to our fellow members. Any interest should be routed to Brad Barrie. Denny requested that membership step up and send in info on themselves and their cars for future articles. Club will actively be seeking volunteers.

(4) Membership Update – Outstanding dues were discussed. If dues are not paid in full, those members will not be receiving a newsletter. Wally will be pressing outstanding members to get current in their dues. We need to have everybody up-to-date so that new procedures on GTOAA participation can start clean in June 2004.

(5) Club Banner – The banner is being worked on and should be finished and on display at the 2003 Awards Banquet on 2/21/2004.

(6) Club Calendars – Are to be turned into the Club with any receipts for sold units. Any requests for calendars will be directed to the Treasurer. Membership agreed (voted) to sell remaining calendars at the reduced price of $5.00/calendar. Denny will ask Mall calendar Kiosk if they will push remaining calendars for us.

NEW BUSINESS:

(1) 2003 Awards Banquet Dinner – Wally spelled out plans and directions to Galliano’s Cucina and Ann Santella explained the menu choices. Club will pick up the tax and gratuity.

(2) Board Member at Large – Denny explained to the membership that Wally recommended that we enlist John Person as our “Member at Large” to serve as a consultant to give us continuity with the past and directional guidance for future Club decisions. All meeting attendees agreed with John serving in this role.

(3) Goals for 2004 – Denny explained to the attendees, the activity goals that the Board is suggesting to the membership:

a. Crusin’ & Car Shows – Denny commented that Club activities for the new year will include lots of driving – members seemed to be happy about this. As our calendar of events is established, the Club will be participating in car shows (as a group) from Tacoma to Marysville. All participation is welcome.

b. Drag Racing – We need a Chairperson to head this activity up and to keep the Club up to date on what’s going on with the racers. Denny will f/u with Bob Botkin to see if he will agree to “chair” the “Racing Committee” and report monthly on activities.

c. Car Clinic – Wally and Denny indicated they will host a couple of these car clinic activities this year. The format and location will be discussed in detail at upcoming meetings. We will need the expertise of other members to help out with this.

d. Show and Shines – Denny suggested that we do Dealer Promotions on the arrival of the 2004 GTO at local dealers.

e. Rainer Run – Denny reported that Lara Majors was securing a date with the city of Orting to again host the Rainer Run. But, we need to follow up and determine if Gary and Lara are going to Host it or just set it up. Wally will check on the new banner at the same time.

f. Mobile Meetings – Denny discussed the idea of having a meeting or two at a remote location, maybe Issaquah. To take advantage of the summer weather and the cars out.

g. Picnic – Steve Martin suggested we look into having a picnic, maybe in conjunction with the Goathearders out of Oregon, somewhere in Chehalis or Corvallis WA. Seemed to be well accepted. We will need a Chairperson to head up locating a sizable park, once a date is established, and to contact the Oregon Club.

h. NW GTO Muscle Car Meet – Wally confirmed that Mike Santella will continue to chair this event. To date, 30% of the sponsors have been secured and 100% should be on board by March. Flyers will list the show itself, along with all sponsor logos.

i. Suggestion Box – Lonnie Santella did some research and indicated the cost to set up a separate line for members to call and find out what’s going on in the Club, would cost around $30/month. While cost prohibitive for 12 months, most members agreed, a 90 day “trial period” from maybe April through July might give us some indication if this would be constructive and helpful. With newsletters going out periodically, not every month, and not everyone owning a computer, this might be a good way for member to stay in touch with what is going on in the Club.

j. Suggestion Box – Lonnie Santella brought up the idea of a Suggestion Box. We will start it at next month’s meeting. While some members asked to keep the comments positive, part of the suggestion box idea was to allow the members to gripe or express concern about certain issues with unanimity. We will initiate the suggestion box and review its operation.

(4) Updating our By-Laws – Denny did not cover this at the meeting but will discuss this with the Board and present to the Club membership for consideration. He wants nominations for new members in October, followed by Elections in November. Bio’s of the personnel running for positions can be posted in October’s newsletter and the Award Banquet dinner would follow in December, with the idea of including the Christmas party, gift exchange and acknowledgement of the new board for the following year.

(5) Committee Personnel Needed For 2004: (ALL)

Drag Racing – Denny to call Bob Botkin to see if he will chair

Club Coordinator for Club Events – Steve Martin will head this up

Muscle Car Meet – Mike Santella will continue to Chair this event

Newsletter - Brad Barrie will continue to be our Newsletter Editor

Promotions – Maybe Bruce Morrison

Event Coordinators – Personnel to assist making phone calls, to help promote events, and help pull things together. We need to figure out what is needed here.

(6) New Point Structure
A new point structure was explained to help with the Member of the Year Award. The new point structure was as follows:

(1) Volunteering for Club Event .................................. 25 points
(2) Newsletter Article contribution ............................... 15 points
(3) Meeting Attendance .............................................. 10 points
(4) Signing up with GTOAA when renewing Club dues ... 10 points
(5) Attending Events .................................................. 5 points
(6) New member recruit ............................................ 5 points

(7) Changing Club Dues
Denny discussed changing the Club Dues of $25.00, to have $5.00 of the dues to be applied toward GTOAA membership. This would start in June of 2004, but will need to be coordinated and work out in such a way that the GTOAA fees are paid thru the Club, so we can keep track of which members are current. Also, this will earn 10 points toward Member of the Year.

(8) Meeting Start Time
Denny addressed this with membership. Meetings will start at 4:00pm sharp. Officers will need to be on hand at 3:00pm to set up sign in and raffle sales.

MEETING ADJORNED:
Next club meeting was scheduled for March 6th, 2004, and current meeting was adjourned by Denny Deal at 5:35pm.
