Northwest Legends Club Meeting Minutes
(March 6, 2004)


MEETING OPENED:

Meeting called to order at 4:00 pm by Denny Deal, President of the Northwest GTO Legends Club. Denny reminded membership that he would be starting all Club meetings for the remainder of the year at 4:00pm sharp.

Wally and Ann Santella thanked membership for the kind gift of flowers that were displayed at the Bonnie Watson Parker Chapel on March 5th, 2004.


SPECIAL INTRODUCTIONS:

Denny introduced new members:
(1) Tom and Betty Bilyeu.


SECRETARIES REPORT:

Wally Santella gave Secretary Report. In line with previous decision to only give highlights of the minutes from last Club meeting, previous club minutes were brief. Wally explained that details would be published on the Northwest GTO Legends website, starting for the month March.


OLD BUSINESS:

(1) Lonnie Santella presented award to David Chesnutt for the Phantom GTO Car of the club. This award was to be presented at 2003 Award Banquet, but David was not present.

(2) Wally Santella reminded membership of the 4 new sets of members from the previous month: (2.1) Mike & Terresa Buzard, (2.2) Richard & Pamela Davis, (2.3) Tom & Patty DeNuzzo, (2.4) Andee & Marcus Richards.

(3) Wally reminded membership of the 2004 Seattle Roaster Show, which was held in Seattle. Ted Knapp and Brent West were both showing cars and both won in their class.

(4) Denny Deal provided further discussion of the Vintage Vehicle Show, which is put on by Vintage Vehicle Productions, Inc. This idea was initially proposed and presented by John Bozony. The Board has reviewed this proposal and agrees that it would be beneficial to the Club. Denny identified 3 different packages to choose from and the $600 package was agreed to by membership. Denny will contact Lance Lambert of Vintage and get more details and will report further on this subject at April’s Club meeting.


TREASURES REPORT:

Lonnie Santella, gave Treasurer’s Report:
(1) Current balance of Club’s bank account of $4,317.38.
(2) Club’s business bank account was moved to Bank of America.
(3) Club now has a “Non Profit Organization” business license.
(4) Lonnie discussed 50/50 raffle idea and membership approved, which will start at next months meeting.


NEW BUSINESS:

(1) Lonnie discussed new sign-in procedure with membership. A modified Membership Roster will be passed around for their check-off.

(2) Lonnie discussed new membership renewal process with membership. Membership renewal announcements will go out October 1st , to be paid before January 1st of the next year, and membership will run from January 1st through December 31st. There was discussion about pro-rating new members who join during the year, but nothing definitive was decided.

(3) Denny discussed 50/50 raffle idea and membership approved, which will start at next months meeting.

(4) Denny announced preliminary plans to have car clinic for April. He will start the first one at his warehouse in Woodinville. Denny called for volunteers to help with this activity. More discuss to follow at next club meeting in April.

(5) John Pearson talked about Tiger Run. He described the process and some of his experiences at the event in the past. Mark DeCosta also provided comments and incites. This was done to help membership (especially new members) start planning to this event. More discussions will follow next month.

(6) Meeting was temporary suspended by Denny Deal, in order that the membership could watch the last minutes of the Washington Huskies defeat of the Stanford Cardinal.

(7) Lara Major explained this year’s plans for Rainier Run to membership. Various check stations will need to be manned (each check station will need volunteers). Lara explained that this event would require significant planning. Lara requested lots of help.

(8) John Pearson volunteered to purchase door prizes for our Northwest Muscle Car Meet. Membership voted and approved the expenditure of $300 for this.


MEETING ADJORNED:
Next club meeting was scheduled for March 6th, 2004, and current meeting was adjourned by Denny Deal at 5:15pm.
