Hood Canal Run June 23, 2012

Based on the reception at the last meeting, the following preliminay itinerary is posted for your information: June 23rd. Meet at I-5/512 McDonald's at 9 AM, cruise thru Olympia up 101 to Port Townsend by noon. Meet up at the Rakers car show at Memorial Field. Have lunch (I've not yet found a place to accommodate all 20 - 30 of us at once). Then folks can pick from these choices for their next event: shop in Port Townsend, visit Bergstrom's Antique Cars at 801 Washington St, go to Sequim to see the Car Barn-35 mi. (I've checked and it is available), visit Fort Warden-1 mi. (historic housing, nice beach), visit Fort Flagler-20 mi., Farmer's Market (Tyler & Lawrence).

Add your suggestions.

We made a stop at a pizza place a bit south of Pt. Townsend on one of our earlier cruises called Ferino's. It seems like the owner is a car guy or a friend of somebody, I forget. The pizza was excellent and we were treated great!

Sorry everyone, I won't be able to make this trip. I got a call from James asking if I could go, but my wife accidentally erased the message before I got the phone number to call and advise. If any of you are going, please let James know that I can't make it this time.

Do we have an estimated count for tomorrow? I'm still 50/50 depending on what my family has planned.

Don
Kinda late for a "flier" - more of an itinerary, check the home page of this site, I put one there.

I also copied and pasted it to the newsletter for those that don't go online. Jim and group worked very hard on putting this together, I hope there is a good turn out despite the weather. Cars are made to be driven in rain you know. They won't melt or turn into pumpkins! So what if you have to wash your car afterwards, will that really kill ya? It needs a good wash anyway. Everyone asks for more events and Jim provided a lot of research and time, he'll be mighty disappointed if you aren't there. Bring another car if you have to, this is the NW a shower is to be expected.

OK, off my soapbox.

Yeah, it's a club event. You don't need to bring the goat. Come out for a drive and lunch. Besides, if it's raining, you won't be mowing the lawn anyway!
