Northwest Legends Club Meeting Minutes
(November 1, 2025)
MEETING OPENED:
Meeting called to order at 6:30pm by our President, Bill Nelson at Round Table Pizza in Burien, WA.
ATTENDANCE:
The meeting total attendance was 11.
GUESTS & NEW MEMBERS:
No guests and no new members attended this Club Meeting.
SECRETARY’S REPORT:
Bob Stevenson read the minutes from the October meeting.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Tom Willett read the treasurer’s report. Tom suggested we revisit donating money to our past scholarship programs next year. Also, Bill Winans from Warren Secord Automotive has hired graduates from Renton Technical College, and would be a possible speaker at a future meeting as to the benefit of providing scholarship money to this college as we have done in the past.
CORRESPONDENCE:
No correspondence this month.
GUEST SPEAKER OF THE MONTH:
There was no guest speaker.
OLD BUSINESS:
Bill discussed the upcoming Holiday party and it was stressed that only members will be invited, since the club is subsidizing each meal.
Wally gave a detailed Clubs Projects Status report to the group that covered the following topics: New Club and Club Support Computers (1 purchased for the club and is fully operational); 2026 Pontiacs on the Columbia – The Dalles (purchased a 1/4 page ad in the “Yellow Book”, 1st draft of flyer, email sent to club members, Ted provided POCI Chapter info to be used to reach out, Jim obtained new sponsor in The Dalles, completed flyer to be sent once costs and contracts completed); 2026 Club Holiday Party (info published in November Legendary Lines, completed email blast to members, online registration activated on website).
NEW BUSINESS:
Bill reminded the group that nominations for club officers is open. The positions of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer are open. Bill was nominated for President, Ted Knapp for Vice President, Bob Stevenson for Secretary and Tom Willett for Treasurer. All four accepted their nominations. Nominations will be open until the Holiday Party, where the winners will be announced.
EVENT COMMITTEE:
Ted talked about the 2026 Tigers event scheduled for The Dalles. Bob suggested we promote the event at the Holiday Party, since we will have a large contingent of club members in attendance. We will have flyers available along with a presentation.
The event committee recommended that we wait one more year to see how the XXX Root Beer to Burgermaster change over is going before we commit to having an event there.
An update to the Griot’s Garage schedule was announced. The POCI club did not get their traditional weekend date, so the Firebird club gave their date to POCI and the Firebirds will be at XXX for both of their 2026 shows.
50/50 RAFFLE: No raffle this month.
SHOP TALK: No shop talk this month.
MEETING ADJOURNED:
The club’s business meeting was adjourned at 7:50pm by our President, Bill Nelson. Because we will have the Holiday Party in December, the next club meeting will be on Saturday, January 3rd at 6:00pm at Round Table Pizza, 15730 1st Ave South, Burien, WA.
