CORRESPONDENCE:
Bob reported that an email was received from Gary Klein who works for the City of Algona. Algona is celebrating Algona Day on Saturday, Aug 24th and is planning to close several streets for a parade and car display. The parade will start at 10:30, with the car display from 11-2. He invited us to attend. Wally said he may be able to determine Gary’s email to respond, since he did not leave contact information when in his email he left on the club website.

GUEST SPEAKER OF THE MONTH:
There was no guest speaker.

OLD BUSINESS:

Ted Knapp presented a breakdown of all of the venues that they have researched for this year’s Holiday Party. A vote was taken and the Auburn Golf Course was determined to be the best location.

 NEW BUSINESS:

Event Committee:

Wally gave an update on the Tigers event. As of the meeting, we have 45 registrations, 44 cars (2 full size). We’ve sold 59 meals. Ames Performance and Rich’s Car Corner have both pledged $500 sponsorships. The hotel cutoff date is May 1 & 2 to get the club rate. The GTOAA representative that was going to attend Tigers on the Columbia had to cancel, so at this point, we don’t have someone from GTOAA available to represent the national organization.

Bill reminded the group that car cruise season is starting, with the first Cruise Puyallup on April 27th. It appears that the Binford gathering on Fridays will be charging $5 per car this year.

Tom reported that he attended the Renton Technical College Student Appreciation Gala last month. It was attended by about 200 people, representing donors to the college. The theme, unknown to Tom until he arrived, was 1965, so people were dressed up in period clothes and the music was from 1965. He had a great time and will attend again.

50/50 RAFFLE:   Bill Nelson won the 50/50 raffle, with $43 to the club and $43 to the winner.

SHOP TALK: Tom said he is taking his car to Warren Secord’s shop in Kent for front end work. Several members were interested in taking their cars there for related work and are looking forward to hearing how Tom’s experience goes.
