Northwest Legends Club Meeting Minutes
(August 4, 2018)

MEETING OPENED:
Meeting called to order at 6:10pm by our Club President, Ted Knapp at the Round Table Pizza in Burien, WA.

ATTENDENCE:
August’s Club meeting was attended by 21 members.

GUESTS & NEW MEMBERS:
There were no guests or new members at August’s Club meeting.

SECRETARIES REPORT:
Wally Santella provided the August Secretary’s Report, giving a brief summary of last month’s meeting minutes, which were also posted on the Club’s website.

TREASURES REPORT:
Tom Willett, Club Treasurer, provided the August Treasurer’s Report.  This report included income, expenses, and balances for all three of the Club’s bank accounts.

CORRESPONDENCE:
There was no Club correspondence to be reported/shared at this Club meeting.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
DONATIONS SUBCOMMITTEE –
Tom Willett announced to the attending membership that Wally Santella has added the new Club Financial Policies to our Club Constitution & By-Laws, which will be posted on our Club website.

2018 TIGERS ON THE COLUMBIA (TOTC) COMMITTEE – Ted Knapp & Wally Santella provided additional recap info, including the fact that we have signed contracts with the Red Lion as our main venue, for 2019 and 2020.  It was also stated that we intend to include the same events (such as Dinner Cruise, Wine Tour, DQ Cruise, and drag racing if we can negotiate an agreement before next year.  If we can’t, we will be looking for another event to replace the Jet Boat Cruise.

OLD BUSINESS:
Scholarships –
Ted Knapp reminded the membership that Barbara Brazil will be analyzing the information that we have on the scholarship programs at Renton Vo Tech and Lake Washington Vo Tech schools.  Wally Santella will provide Barbara with any info we currently have.

Charitable Donations – Wally Santella raised a motion to donate $250 to LEO (Life Enrichment Options) and the Army Fisher Houses this year.  This motion was passed by the attending membership.

2018 Car Shows/Events –  Wally Santella went over the preparations for this year’s NW Muscle Car Meet at the XXX in Issaquah.  Wally identified that all supporting sponsors have been recruited and invoiced.  Wally talked about Gman handling the Pre-Registration and running along side Show Time on the day of the event Post registration activities. Ted Knapp provided the following list of car events: (1) POCI All Pontiac Show – July 14 (Ted asked for attendees to report on the show), (2) XXX NW Muscle Car Meet, (3) Western Washington Firebirds All Pontiac Show – Aug 19th (Ted emphasized strong support on our part). (4) Mark Bilyeu Memorial Pontiac Picnic-in-the-Park – Mud Mountain Dam, Aug 19th, (5) NW American Muscle Car Show – Griot’s Garage, Sept 8th (Ted mentioned that Jim Braden is working on landing sponsors).    

NEW BUSINESS:
Mark Bilyeu Memorial Pontiac Picnic-in-the Park –
A motion was raised to add Barbara Lunde to our Mark Bilyeu Memorial Pontiac Picnic-in-the Park event next year, when it would be know as the Mark Bilyeu & Barbara Lunde Memorial Pontiac Picnic-In-the-Park.  This motion was passed by the attending membership.

2018 Club Christmas Banquet – Don McLaughlin addressed the membership about our 2018 Club Christmas Banquet location.  This subject was discussed by the attending membership and because of the food quality issues at the Red Lion, a motion was made and passed to move the Xmas Party to the 13 Coins.

SHOP TALK:
Gary Tischer talked about getting his 1964 Barn Find GTO ready for the XXX Show.

50/50 RAFFLE:
Delores Forsyth won $33 and $33 went to our Club coffers.

MEETING ADJORNED:
The club’s business meeting adjourned at 7:30pm by our President, Ted Knapp.  Our next meeting will be at the Round Table Pizza in Burien on September 1st, 2018, at 6:00pm.
